Richard Meli MD is a board certified anesthesiologist, co-founder & CEO of Healthcare Performance Companies and a prominent entrepreneur. In 1998, he co-founded Anesco North Broward (ANB), one of the largest, most respected physician owned anesthesiology groups in South Florida. Since then, under Dr. Meli’s leadership, the company has grown to include Healthcare Performance Strategies, an anesthesia/O.R. consulting company, and Healthcare Performance-Sleep, a sleep lab management company. Dr. Meli was formerly the Chief of Anesthesiology for North Ridge Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He has been involved in numerous mergers and acquisitions within healthcare and other industries. As CEO of Industrial Environmental Coatings Corporation, an environmentally friendly coatings manufacturer, Dr. Meli lead the growth of the company as well as its acquisition by Akzo Nobel (AKZA), the largest paint and coatings company in the world. Dr. Meli’s specialties include anesthesia group creation and management, hospital/ group relations and contract negotiations.

Anthony F. Altmann has been a successful executive in various facets of business and finance for more than 20 years. Tony has built successful companies in various industries and has led public offerings and major growth initiatives for small and large firms. Tony was recently president of a $1 Billion+ division of FPL Group. He has been responsible for over $500 million of project financings, partnerships and joint ventures in his varied senior executive roles, including a leadership position with a Fortune 500 company. In addition, Tony has spent almost ten years assisting medical businesses in practice growth efforts. Tony runs a turn-around management firm that works with companies in diverse industries. His management company has completed numerous successful transactions (including financings ranging from $1 million to $100 million). His specialties include growth plans, turnarounds, and business strategy.

Fara Marino, RN, MS, MBA HCM has been with our companies for more than 10 years and has more than 30 years of clinical and management experience within hospitals and hospital chains. She has been Director of Operations for Anesco North Broward LLC where she actively manages the anesthesia group operations for a 150 member group at one of the largest public health systems in the U.S. She also previously served as Executive Director of Surgical Services for Broward Health, where she had fiscal responsibility for a $50 million division. Fara’s specialties include staffing, physician and CRNA recruitment, anesthesia group governance, and management issues.

Hospital/Anesthesia Group Development & OR Efficiency Evaluations

Edward Czinn MD has been with our companies for more than 5 years and is a board certified anesthesiologist with more than 20 years of clinical and management experience. As Medical Director of Anesthesiology at Broward Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Czinn has provided group leadership and O.R. team management as well as led anesthesia efficiency initiatives for hospitals. He has been involved in all levels of hospital contract negotiations, anesthesia group formation, physician recruiting and CRNA management. Dr. Czinn’s specialties include group development, O.R. scheduling and efficiency.

Billing, Compliance & Risk Management

Paul Kolbert MD is board certified in both anesthesiology and internal medicine and founding partner of Solutions for Medical Business LLC, HP’s anesthesia billing and collections company. Dr. Kolbert has more than 20 years of clinical, financial and management experience. He previously served as Medical Director for Northridge Surgery Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Kolbert’s specialties include compliance and regulation, revenue cycle management and managed care contract negotiations.

Revenue Cycle Management

Frank Denoun has over 20 years of professional experience in accounting and finance, including 6 years as a financial analyst at Citicorp and 8 years at OMI Medical Imaging, a diagnostic imaging company. Having managed finance, accounting and payroll, his responsibilities include month-end closings, reporting, analysis and budgeting. Frank’s specialties include profitability analysis, cash flow management, financial projections, accounting process efficiency improvements through standardization and automation, and the implementation of financial controls.
